CareStar Awards 2024
Our inaugural awards in 2023 recognized home care workers. This year, we are extending the award to acknowledge healthcare paraprofessionals working in home and community care and support staff making a difference in the offices across healthcare agencies in New York City and Nassau County. The CareStar Awards will not only honor individual excellence but also foster a culture of appreciation and recognition within the healthcare profession. Celebrate the Home Care Workers & Support Staff
- 40 Awards celebrating Longevity, Conqueror, Advocate, Compassionate, and Community Impact—20 of these awards will be for home care workers.
- Increase awareness of home care benefits to families, specifically for aging, disabled, and chronically ill New Yorkers.
- Spotlights Home Care Workers.
- Honors Community Health Workers, Case Coordinators, Intake Coordinators, and Peer Navigators.
- Strengthen advocacy to encourage legislative and community support for the growth of home care services.
Who are these home and community health workers?
Daily in NYC, thousands of homes and community health workers with big hearts, passion, and their need to care, board, the trains
and buses heading into the homes of the most vulnerable and underserved. Simultaneously, many committed administrative staff are critical to deploying these talents and keeping these agencies oiled to achieve better patient outcomes.

How can someone submit for the CareStar Awards?
Nominations can be submitted by peers, patients, supervisors, or community members through an online application or social media by using #carestarawards2024.
- A panel of judges composed of healthcare leaders, educators, and community representatives will evaluate nominations based on predetermined criteria for each category.
- Finalists will be selected for each category, and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony.

When will the CareStar Awards take Place?
The Award will take place in July 2024.
What are the prizes?
- Prizes for Winners will receive a prestigious award trophy and certificate of recognition.
- Additionally, winners may receive monetary prizes and professional development opportunities.
- All Top 60 participants will receive a certificate of participation.
- All finalists and winners will receive extensive media coverage and public recognition to showcase their achievements and inspire others in the healthcare community.
